Riots In New Sussex

Widespread riots hit hard in the city of Crawley Down this week. After George Witterson’s defeat there were isolated cases of fights breaking out and various betting agencies such as ‘Wrycan Denarii’ being raiding after they put George as the favourite to the win the match. Matches last week and this week were then cancelled due to concerns of more violence occurring however Anti-Violent Sport Activists quickly used the situation as ammunition to shut down the sport and from what started as a non-violent protest erupted into a full riot which has wreaked havoc upon the city over the last two days.

Police Hildewisa Henry Blaec responded by releasing the following statement: ‘We shall not stand for this sort of behaviour which is proving destructive to our most cherished national sport! The few are disrupting the many and so the Beweardian Division have dispatched the specialist Riot Assault Unit to back up both the Beweardian and the local People’s Militia. Rumours of militant protesters have already circulated around the region especially after the Blanso Town People’s Militia raided the home of Alec Tresburg under suspicion of the Possession of Illegal Explosives for the intent to kill and maim. As of yet Mr Tresburg has denied these claims though Officers of the Scon Division have found illegal quantities of EO92 Military Grade Plastic Explosives as well as numerous items of propaganda relating to both the Anti-Violent Sport Association and various documents relating to the long quiet ‘Surtland Liberation Army’.  It brings questions to whether or not the SLA infiltrated pressure groups in the hope of using them as fronts for their so called war. This may be the reason why the Royal Para-Military Police have been deployed in all four of the counties that make up the ancient rebellious region of Surtland.

The Sword and the Cross has learnt that the ProvisionalStrecuminesca Phillip Natht is to make a statement about the discoveries soon. Though the last matches of the Wing Chun National League will remain closed until the city is secure.
